About In Your Home Care

About In Your Home Care

Our Goal

Aging in place is one way for senior citizens to remain comfortable throughout their golden years. Often, senior or elderly individuals would be comfortable living at home if someone else were there to help out with chores and errands and keep an eye on things.

When you need non-medical in-home senior care for yourself or a loved one, you want a company you can trust. At In Your Home Care, we provide in-home care services for seniors in the Cumberland area.

At In Your Home Care, we are available 24/7 to provide assisted care service to you or a loved one. From light household chores such as laundry and meal prep to errands and hygiene assistance, our caregivers are available to help with whatever you need. Although our care is nonmedical, we can provide assistance such as medication reminders and help recovering after an illness or surgery.

All of our caregivers are carefully screened to ensure that we provide safe, compassionate care for all of our clients. Our caregivers are friendly, hardworking, and ready to provide help and companionship to you or your senior loved one.

From our office in Carlisle, PA, we serve most of Cumberland County, including Mechanicsburg, Mount Holly Springs, Boiling Springs and Newville, PA.

Our Owner

Don is an attorney and former non-profit executive with many years of serving seniors as financial counselor, attorney, and caregiver. His practice is concentrated in elder law and estate planning for seniors. His wife, Jan, is a busy mother of 7 and grandmother of 19 who has served seniors in the community, her church, and family throughout her life, including keeping them in her home, providing care and transportation, and enlisting the services of her husband and children in many tasks at their homes. She has served as a caregiver for Specialty Home Care since 2013, though now only as an occasional back up due to health and family needs.

Their love for and experience with serving seniors is a passion for Don and Jan, leading them to purchase Specialty Home Care in 2013 after early retirement from leading a large foundation. Senior care seemed best suited to fully engage his interests and skills.
